For my pet illustration I did my dog peek-a-boo. I used her as inspiration because shes my favorite animal, and mainly because I love her so much. I took this picture when i lived in North Carolina, and she was just chilling and her bed so i guess i just took a picture of her. For color scheme i used her main colors, mostly because she is many different colors so i used the brown shades, white and a tan color in a few shades. It made it more hard mainly for her features being odd shaped, and not one specific shape. That being a main factor in that there is a lot of gaps in the illustration.
